How Lists Work: Sorting and Filtering

Last updated on 15 March 2022

We organize our world into lists of data. And the ways we interact with lists influence how we interact with our world. Here’s an infographic explanation of how sorting and filtering help us turn chaotic data into ordered lists.

Sorting: changes the order in which items appear in a list (e.g. alphabetical order)

Filtering: shows only a subset of a list’s items (e.g. only vegetarian meals)
